Within the framework of its program on the systematic support for analyses in social, political and economic studies, Belarus Public Policy Fund (BPPF) in cooperation with Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies (BISS) announces a special call for proposals for small grants on corporate responsibility (CR).
The aim of the call lies in intensifying the debate on key CR issues that are not satisfactorily researched by analysts and lack public discussion.

The projects to support within the 7th BPPF Call for Proposals

The 7th BPPF Call for Proposals was successfully closed. One of the strategic goals, i.e. to extend the number of grantees and partners from state (public) institutions, was accomplished, as the authors of two of the supported projects are affiliated with public research and academic institutions.

Within the framework of its program on the systematic support for analyses in social, political and economic studies, Belarus Public Policy Fund (BPPF) in cooperation with Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies (BISS) announces a call for proposals for small grants.
 
Public policy-oriented research in Belarus is supported with the aim of invigorating and intensifying the debate on key public policy issues that are not satisfactorily researched by analysts and lack public discussion. BPPF’s concern is to increase awareness within both Belarusian society and international community on various Belarusian policies that need to be reexamined and reformed with the aim to soften country’s transformation, as well as analyze political, economical and social development in Belarus  as seen directly from the field.

Как повлияет приватизация на уровень ПИИ

«Продажа принадлежащих государству акций за первое полугодие составила чуть более $ 1 млн», – заявил 25 июля замминистра экономики Александр Ярошенко. Он отметил, что эта позиция является резервной для привлечения в страну ПИИ.

Впрочем, данная резервная позиция превосходит по размерам объемы привлечения прямых инвестиций без учета приватизации. По итогам полугодия их поступило $ 605 млн при задании на год $ 1,2 млрд. Настораживает тот факт, что большую часть обеспечили реинвестированные доходы зарубежных компаний. То есть фактически государство выполняет свой план за счет ранее достигнутых успехов.

Creation of a nuclear power plant – a systemic problem of the national security of Belarus

Energy policy

Ensuring the security of energy supply is a key global challenge. Many nations have pinned their hopes of a secure and stable energy supply on nuclear power, declaring their intention to build their own nuclear power plants. Under these circumstances, Belarus is following suit. However, the current nuclear engineering trend and global financial crisis, both call for serious adjustments to the rationale for the creation of a Belarusian nuclear power plant. This study asserts that the creation of a nuclear power plant as a “crisis response instrument” to address the energy security challenge cannot be considered the best option and is in itself a troublesome decision.
